We received communication from the homeowners' association that there will be a Halloween party for the kids at the village clubhouse. But, instead of scary costumes, the children must come dressed as angels and saints. They call it "holyween."

Last year, Yuan won Best Halloween Costume in Bads' office's party. (See the winning costume here.) This year, we didn't get him a costume. And since it's holyween and not halloween, we thought of reusing his shepherd costume yet again. But there will be games and trick-or-treating and he's pawisin so donning a bathrobe is not a good idea.

Good thing Kuya Pen came up with a brilliant idea (I swear, bebe, it's getting frequenter and frequenter). Why not come as a Filipino saint? Haha!

Yuan has a pang-katipunero outfit he used last Linggo ng Wika. It's presko and it's perfect. We told him if someone asks him who he's supposed to be he should answer: "I'm San Lorenzo Ruiz, because my name is Lorenzo and he's a Filipino saint." O, ha! Brilliance!

After the games, the kids went around the village. I took some pictures, and I didn't have any idea na kinakarir pala ng mga tao dito ang pagpapakain sa mga nangangaluluwa! Yuan had so much fun. And he took home so much loot in so little time.


When he got home, he was so excited to open his new Pokedex which we got earlier today. It's a gift from Bads. There's a cute story behind it, too. He saw the Pokedex when we were buying a gift for his classmate who was celebrating his birthday. He wanted it so badly, he sent a text message to Bads that went like this: "I have a secret. Shh! Collect more Pokemon toys. I hope you buy me the Pokedex when you come back."

Yuan has a PS2, a PSP, a Gameboy Advance SP with almost all the Pokemon games, and now this. Sometimes Pen and I worry that he gets too many expensive toys (most of them not from us). But I must admit, though, that if you've read the Pokemon Adventures comic book series (Yuan has the first 10 and he has read and reread all of them), owning your very own Pokedex is way cool.
